Genotyping Services

Extraction and QC

Quality lab testing begins with efficient and cost-effective sample preparation. With multiple customizable and high-throughput liquid handlers, we can perform up to 15,000 daily extractions from a wide variety of sample types. Clinical Enterprise can provide quality control using fluorometric or gel electrophoresis, depending on the specific requirements.

qPCR-Based Genotyping

Offering highly sensitive and reliable detection for known variants of interest, qPCR can provide rapid, cost-effective genotyping results for any number of samples. qPCR genotyping is an ideal option when screening or quantifying a smaller numbers of targets (<= 20). Applications are wide-ranging, with qPCR predominantly used in clinical diagnostics, genetic research, infectious studies, SNP analysis, and more. Clinical Enterprise provides several custom single and multiplex qPCR assays, ideal for rapid, high-quality results.

Array-Based Genotyping

Utilizing cutting-edge Illumina array technology, microarrays can economically perform targeted, exome-wide, and genome-wide studies. Whether the application is just a small number of targets or thousands, microarrays provide a flexible option to gain valuable insight into clinical and research applications. Research applications include GWAS, cytogenetics, pharmacogenetics, methylation, and drug discovery. Clinical Enterprise offers reliable, automated workflows for several microarray options and delivers high-quality data and fast turnaround.

Sequencing Services

16S Sequencing

Target specific regions of the bacterial 16S rRNA gene to identify and understand the abundance of various microbial communities. Diverse research applications include classifying beneficial bacteria and pathogens and comparative analysis of healthy and diseased groups. Clinical Enterprise offers 16S microbial profiling of variable regions of the 16S rRNA gene with flexible requirements or configurations around read counts and required depth of sequencing.

Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS)

Established to deliver a comprehensive view of the entire genome, whole genome sequencing (WGS) is a powerful method used in discovery applications. WGS provides a detailed genome view, base-by-base, driving advances in genomics research across academic, clinical, consumer, and biopharma industries. WGS can reveal both large and small genetic variants, key in determining inherited disorders, characterizing mutations, and tracking disease outbreaks.

Whole Exome Sequencing (WES)

Optimized to capture the exonic regions of >20,000 human genes, whole exome sequencing (WES) examines the genetic etiology of many different conditions. WES adds valuable insight to both academic and clinical research; it is most often a tool to help diagnose patients who present with complex biochemical and clinical symptoms, birth defects, and developmental delay.

Shotgun Metagenomics

Rather than isolating only specific amplicon regions, shotgun metagenomics sequences all genomic DNA present in a sample, including both host and microorganisms. While 16S NGS profiling provides a snapshot of the microbial community, shotgun metagenomics gives insight into the taxonomic profile and abundances, and also functional predictions, gut-host relationships, drug discovery data, [RL4] and more precise understanding of specific microbial strains.

Targeted Resequencing

This sequencing technique allows for deep coverage of specific genomic loci of interest to identify common and rare variants that may be associated with a specific genetic condition or trait. Using capture-based probes, Clinical Enterprise can work with you to design and optimize a custom assay that suits any application. In addition, Clinical Enterprise offers a fully LDT validated clinical assay called LipidSeq, which targets 23 genes associated with rare lipid and lipoprotein disorders.
